June 22, 2009 Fashion Shoot
by Sam Sharpe on Jun.22, 2009, under Fashion
Every now and again, I have a Modeling Agency call me up to do a “Fashion Shoot.” This is really what I term a “Cattle Call” shoot where the Agency runs 10 or 15 aspiring models in front of me, gives me about 5 to 7 minutes with each to make them comfortable and teach them how to pose, and then I shoot them for images to be used on their Comp Card. They get 3 “Looks,” or clothes changes with the shoot. This can be tuff, because for some of these people, it is their first time in front of a camera for a real photo shoot. Some do real well, and some not so good. I try and shoot all with available light, I think that it looks best. Some I have played with in Photoshop to give them something different. Anything to draw attention to their promo card, that is what counts. Please click on “continue reading” below to see more, or go to my site: www.TheSharpeImage.com. Thanks
Here are some more images from the shoot
The girl in the above shot was really comfortable in front of the camera. I think that she really has what it may take to make it in this business. This images was shot in color, turned to black and white, and then had a “cool” tone added to it. The next shot below is of the same girl:
This girl looked very good in her bikini shoot. I thought that I did very well with the light. Anytime I get to shoot a good looking girl in this kind of light, I jump all over it:
This next girl was extremely sexy. I wanted to do something different with her images to draw attention to her. Here are a couple of images that I put through photoshop to try and do something different with:
Not all I shoot are women. I shoot guys also. Anything to pay the bills these day! Somedays I really like shooting guys better than girls. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE women, but guys are guys so much easier to shoot. Posing with guys is a breeze. They are so much less intimidated, and they get used to the camera faster. I can shoot a group of guys way faster than girls. Here are some examples:
I thought that his blue eyes worked real well with the blue color of his shirt.
I shot this image from up on a ladder. I wanted to get a different angel than a normal pose. I think that I achieved it.
Below are 2 more girl shots. I thought that the colors worked real well with the girl in the black bathing suit. The colors give almost a “Fall” feeling to the image. Something different since most swim suite shots scream “summer.”
Like I said, these shoots are tuff. You have so little time to get these people comfortable and make them look good. It does help that these were good looking people this time! I will have to post some that were not so “good looking.” Maybe not, don’t want to offend anyone!
Anyway, thanks for looking!
